Introducing Dilly1Buck: The Rising Star

In the ever-evolving landscape of music, few artists manage to capture the raw essence of street culture quite like Dilly1Buck. Hailing from Harare, Zimbabwe, Dilly1Buck has swiftly risen through the ranks with his distinctive blend of Afrobeat rhythms and candid storytelling. His journey from performing in local clubs to becoming a household name is a testament to his relentless dedication and undeniable talent. Tracks like "Song yekuBlower" and "Mastreets Akupisa" have not only topped local charts but have also resonated with audiences beyond borders, marking him as a force to be reckoned with in the music scene.

The Creative Spark: How Mafaken Came to Life

The idea for Mafaken sparked in the studio when Boy Tricky played a beat that instantly set the tone for something special. The energy was undeniable, and within a few hours, the song took shape. The track draws from a real-life incident when I was with Dingo Duke at a show in Ruwa, and his phone got stolen. That frustration, that instant shift from good vibes to annoyance, was something we knew people could relate to. Instead of letting the negativity linger, we flipped it into something creative and fun.

Mafaken became an anthem for calling out those vibe-killers—the ones who steal, lie, or just bring bad energy. The song takes that experience and turns it into something high-energy, filled with humor, raw emotion, and a beat that makes you want to move.

Building the Sound: Production & Collaborations

With Boy Tricky handling the production and engineering, the track had the perfect foundation. His ability to transform raw ideas into polished sounds is second to none, and Mafaken is proof of that.

Then there’s Dingo Duke, who not only lived the experience that inspired the song but also played a huge role in shaping its final version. One of the wildest moments in the studio happened when Dingo started freestyling during the outro. It was unplanned, completely organic, and it took the song to another level. We knew instantly that it had to stay, giving Mafaken an authentic, spontaneous touch that makes it even more memorable.

The Rollout: How Mafaken Will Take Over

The excitement surrounding Mafaken is building, and we’re making sure it gets the rollout it deserves. As always, I like to test new music by performing unreleased tracks at Shebeen Fest to see how the crowd reacts. When we played Mafaken, the response was crazy people were already catching onto the hook before the song was even over. That’s when we knew it was time to prepare for its release. The rollout for this song started 3 months ago with a snippet shared at the end of Song yekuBlower music video. ( https://youtu.be/8rnkhAuRwG8?si=sx3yzSw2cX3-a_h2 ).

To make this even bigger, we’re dropping a high-energy music video alongside the single. Since the track is based on real events, the visuals will bring that story to life in a way that connects with fans on a deeper level. Expect intense moments, wild energy, and a vibe that makes you feel like you were right there in Ruwa with us.

The Future: What Comes After Mafaken?

Right now, I have over 25 unreleased tracks just sitting in the vault, and I’m deciding whether to drop an EP or keep the momentum going with monthly singles. Either way, new music is coming, and fans should expect nothing but bangers.

One thing’s for sure—Mafaken is just the beginning. Stay locked in on my socials because big moves are on the way. You never know what’s next, but trust me, you don’t want to miss it!
